Plain white tee....

Tee: Target {Totally my fav} | Skinnies: AE | Flats: Me Too {Now at Nordstroms Rack, try here for some for $40 if you can't find them at your rack} | Bag: Tory Burch | Necklace: J Crew | Sunnies: H&M

Like I've talked about before, my summer looks are so much more casual than during any other season. The weather doesn't even get to what I consider 'hot' here, but most of the time I like breezy options. On the days where I'm running around {which seems like everyday lately} I usually throw on a t-shirt and jeans, and a few girly options make it more public appropriate if you know what I mean ;) A sparkly necklace and some cute flats do the trick so well!

What's your favorite look for the days when you're running around like crazy?! I want to hear from you all!!
PS. If you read my blog, I'd love if you follow it!! ;)

The jumpsuit + 4 ways....

Saturday night I got off work and went to Tar-jay simply because I had nothing better to do :) I ran across this jumpsuit and almost didn't try it on because generally these types of get-ups scare me. I actually really love it though, and the best part..... only $10! I'm sorry if I wear this all the time now, it's just too comfy. I was playing around with accessories to see how versatile it could be, here's what I came up with....

1. Neon necklace and sandals, perfect for running errands.
2. Statement necklace and my favorite flats, I'd wear this out shopping or lunch with girlfriends
3. Added a white blazer, statement necklace and leopard flats, perfect date night out outfit!
4. Just because I'm excited for fall..... booties and put a black tee underneath to make it less summery!

I definitely suggest running out to Target and getting one of these bad boys!! They're so comfy though, you might not want to wear anything else ;)

Happy Monday dolls, take it easy....

Ready for boots?

Let's be real here for a second. I love the sun. Like, palm springs in the middle of summer, aka 118 degrees {ish} and up, does not bug me. At all. I am a 'summer girl'. But there's something about fall that really gets me. I love all of the colors changing, the sense of newness and new challenges, a new form of energy, and most of all, the clothes. Neutral colors are so perfect when you're on a budget, because you can come up with so many more outfits than when you're sticking to bold statement pieces. When I looked online at the Nordies anniversary sale a couple days ago {early-access!} I completely died over these boots. I feel like its a necessity to have them! I'm seriously debating it. So, I put together 3 different outfits to help you get a jump start on your fall wardrobe if you're like me and are looking forward to cardigans and boots! ;)

Outfit one: Lumberjack chic!
This is perfect for my favorite fall dates.... pumpkin patches, eating caramel apples, drinking hot apple cider, the works.... keeps you warm when you're outside but still festive!
Flannel: L.K. Bennett
Jeans: Paige
Fur vest: Buckle
Boots: Tory Burch {ON SALE!!}
Pearls: Buy here
Watch: MK

Outfit two: Classy girl
I love this as an everyday outfit because jersey knit skirts are adorable but so comfy, thick sweaters are a must for this fall, and one statement necklace doesn't make you look too overdone. This is the perfect outfit to take you into the night as well, such as a dinner date or out and about with girlfriends.
Sweater: Buy here
Skirt: Tibi {Here at F21 for only $6.80!}
Boots: Tory Burch
Long socks: swell.com
Necklace: J Crew
Sunnies: Wet Seal

Outfit three: Night out!
Blake and I find it completely necessary to go out at least once a month for a romantic date, that's usually pretty nice. This would be perfect for that sort of event, or even the fast approaching holidays! {Is it weird that I'm thinking about Thanksgiving? Probably.}
Top: French Connection {Total lust}
Sweater: J Crew {A must-have for anyone!}
Jeans: Paige
Boots: Tory Burch
Bag: MK
Bracelet: J Crew
Earrings: Bauble Bar

So tell me..... have you started your fall/winter wardrobe? Are you currently craving anything on the fabulous nordies sale?? Tell me what your picks are!! :)
Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Yesterday........

I got to see my handsome boy :)

It was a little mini day trip, and I'm so thankful I got to spend the afternoon/night with him yesterday! Being in a long distance relationship is so hard sometimes and if there's a chance we get to be together I'll take it! He was about an hour a way from where I live now for a recruiting camp for baseball.... he was a little tired {poor baby, 9 hour days are no fun...} so we went shopping and out for dessert, then rested and watched some movies in the hotel room! I don't post too much about my personal life, but I know I have about the move and I can't wait. Knowing all the hard work we have put into our relationship makes it all so worthwhile!

He just makes me so unbelievably happy.... Would you guys be interested in a post about 'our story'?? Let me know! I could go on for ages about my love bug, but I'll just leave you with this one last picture.....

...... The real us ;) just being goofballs!

I had a different post planned for today but this is what you're getting now!! ;) It's 2 am and I have little to none energy... don't ask why I'm up!

Happy Thursday!!!

DIY Hubby shorts!

I love wearing my mans clothes.... especially when we're apart, it's something that makes me feel hmm.... connected to him? Maybe that's weird, or maybe you're like me and love wearing your hubbys/boyfriends clothes!
Here's how to make 'hubby/boyfriend shorts!'

Here's beforehand.... now this is probably potentially the trickiest part for some of you. Blake wears a size 32 jeans, and they're big in the waist on me, but the perfect amount bagginess I was hoping for. The boyfriend effect ;) I've just been belting them when I wear them, I haven't taken them in or anything. If your hubs/bf's jeans are terrible huge on you in the waist, I would suggest getting them taken in, or doing it yourself. Anyways, now for the fun stuff.....

Any jeans will do. These are just some super old ones Blake had from Buckle.

I actually tried them on and measured where I wanted them to hit when they are rolled up {see first picture}. I then measured about 3 inches down from that point and drew a line so I could measure when I actually cut the jeans.

Cut off where you drew your line, this doesn't have to be totally perfect, as you're going to end up rolling them up.

I actually just folded the jeans in half and cut straight across again on the other leg. If this is how you want your shorts to be, roll up the ends and you're DONE! Isn't that crazy simple?! My shorts stay rolled up pretty well just by themselves, but if you want you could actually sew the inner roll onto the jeans themselves. Personally I like them better just like this.... guys would never put that much effort into their jeans ;)

I decided that I wanted mine a little more 'destroyed'. I marked again with a pen where I wanted my holes to go.

Cut along the line so you have a slit. You can make the hole wider, fray it by pulling out the seams that stick out, and randomly snip along the edges of the hole to help it create a more 'natural' looking rip. It just all depends on how polished/destroyed you want these to look! That's the fun part about DIY project, the outcome of how they look is totally up to you!

Hope you all enjoyed!! If you attempt these, I would love to see pictures!! :) Send me the link, post on Instagram and let me know, or you can email me!

I love my hubby because.....

He's supportive, caring, loving, selfless, always puts me first, compassionate, he's my best friend, we're silly, he always keeps me laughing, his smile seriously lights up my worst days, his athleticism, and not to mention hes quite hot if I do say so myself ;) and he gives me his pants.......

So I could make these!!

 Wanna see what I'm laughing at in this picture?
This would be Emmie, wishing she could be in the front with us taking pictures and chasing rabbits.

Awk.

Boyfriend shorts: DIY hubbies {Similar here if you're not into the whole DIY thing} | Cardigan: Macy's {Old, similar here} | T-shirt: Target {My FAV!!} | Sandals: Target | Bag: Tory Burch | Sunnies: H&M {Recent} | Necklace: Charlotte Russe

I may or may not be totally in love with these shorts. As of late, 'boyfriend-style' everything has been my go-to pieces. I'm trying to be as stress-free as possible with the move coming up {7 weeks!} and I feel that it's reflecting on my outfits as well! I wore this to a street fair with one of my girlfriends Saturday morning and it was perfect; comfy and kept me warm in the cool morning temperatures! One important guideline I like to follow is that when wearing these menswear pieces, it's important to add some girly accents no matter how casual you're going! Leopard sandals and a funky, glitzy necklace are sometimes all you need ;)

Check back tomorrow as I'll be posting my own DIY guide on how to make your own hubby/boyfriend shorts!

Happy Tuesday!!

Urbanly-girly

Does that make any sense.....? Probably not. PS. Please just ignore my face/hair/all of the above in these pictures..... it was a long day! Give me some slack! ;)

Maxi: F21 {Recent, cute option here} | Denim vest: Macy's {Similar here+here+here-good for the fall!} | Bag: Tory Burch | Sandals: Steve Madden {Recent} | Necklace: J Crew

I love anything maxi. Like for realz, they are the perfect, easy-going pieces when you want to look put-together, but have no time. When I have a standout print like this, I like mixing unexpected pieces to create a whole new look. It gives you so many more options when you go for a completely different vibe! This weekend was so busy, and this week/next weekend will be even busier! Friday night I went out for sushi after work, Saturday I shopped after work for some more furniture and exciting DIY projects {coming soon;)} and yesterday it was Girls Night Out in Portland! A few girlfriends and I are vowing to do something every saturday before I more! Next weekend we have super fun stuff planned, but more on that later ;)
What did you all do this weekend?! Make sure to check back tomorrow, I have a couple uber fun posts the next couple of days!!
